Genus: Campylocentrum
Campylocentrum consists of about sixty-five species of epiphytes or lithophytes that are distributed from Central Florida and the Caribbean through Mexico and Central America as far south as Argentina. Growth forms vary from large masses with leafy stems to leafless plants with short stems and massive clusters of roots. Roots in all species are photosynthetic. The leaves, if present, are oblong or narrow, leathery, have bi-lobed tips and usually are orange-brown or tan in color. The short, numerous to few-flowered inflorescences rise from stem internodes and have extremely small usually white or yellow flowers. Flowers are arranged in two ranks along the inflorescence rachis. The flat or concave tri-lobed lip has a club-shaped spur which is large relative to the size of the flower.
